In Reply To: This has been a rather interesting thread -- ranging from rampant "I wanna learn!" to stuff elitism. I've been in the VC business nearly 20 years. My partners and I administer a small fund, and also act as VC partners to outstanding entrepreneurial aspirants. We're not "tier 1" or "tier 2" but neither are we laying off or trimming back. We have more work than we can handle, and are still, in this economy, able to pick and choose our deals. I've had many interns who went on to the larger institutions. They learned the scut, nuts and bolts with me and we all loved it. Does it pay much? Some. I haven't had the applicants this year as in years past but the crop of finance and MBA students has dwindled. If you want to intern, and you're serious, we're interested.
