I have an MBA from a small school but with a 3.86GPA. I have 7 years international experience and have been a director for China operations for 2 years managing cross-cultural teams. Would I have a chance at getting into a VC firm? |

Grades are very important when seeking any opportunities, but as you know - it is not everything. Getting into venture capital is a very tough proposition due to the enormous upside that exists if the success of the portfolios are successful and not to mention the 2-3% management fees that exist today.
The best opportunity to get into a venture firm would be to network within the venture community and not rely so much on your academic achievements. As far as your international background is concerned, it is rather interesting, but very few firm currently invest internationally (i.e. most invest within their own local area).
Good luck!
