Past 2-3 yrs. after college (top Ivy) have been working at small VC firm as analyst. I've learned a lot about business development/sourcing deals and analysis/due diligence of early-stage dealflow. Only problem is that we are shoring off our current investments and not really doing a whole lot now. I'm ready to do something new and challenging.
I'm shooting for a top B-school in the next 2 yrs. but am uncertain about how my past experience (softer skill set than bankers) would factor into it. Would like to get some operational experience at a startup but am somewhat risk-adverse in current market conditions given that I haven't saved much money the past 2 yrs. Would appreciate any advice from someone who's done VC before B-School, the track they took there and what they might be doing now.
Thanks,

I'm in the same boat but already have the WM/IB experience.
Are you simply trying to get into b-school or aiming to continue in vc? If you're that risk averse skip the start up and get mkting experience at an established firm. I don't think one could go wrong learning from experienced people.
The question is great.
