Anybody with any knowledge in this space? I work with a large east coast PE group, but I am considering a Private Equity Portfolio Manager position out west with a large institutional fund. The position is to underwrite LP investments and do co-investments with GPs. It is a bit of a lifestyle choice (i.e., cheaper place to live, less hours, etc.). Is there a career in this area? I don't have the typical PE pedigree (regional school MBA), so I question my ability to stay in PE if I go elsewhere.
