Top Tier firm or Small Shop? |

I am looking to join a PE / VC shop for the summer before I attend business school. I have applied to the top schools (HBS, GSB @ Stanford, Wharton, Columbia) and I expect to get in to at least one.
Before I go I would like to spend the summer honing my skills in PE / VC.
To date I have had classic training as a financial analyst and have also gained significant operating experience. I was one of the early employees in coprorate finance and later M&A for an Internet company in the bay area. We raised over $150 million and filed our S-1. Only to see it pulled.
I have since started my own company. I am a founder and acting VP of product management. Our company creates enterprise software solutions. We are currently in due diligence to be purchased and thus I believe I will have some free time over the summer.
Does anyone have advice / contacts of bay area firms (NYC is also good) that could use someone for three months? |
