From what I understand the worth of an MBA(coming from the mouths of MBAs themselves) is whether you will have access to quality contacts, alumni and recruiters.
I'm afraid I have to agree that if you're gonna go for a B-school try to get into one of the top 10 cause they're the ones who are going to give you the big three I mentioned which leads to lucrative offers!

On the matter of "top10 or nothing" - who are you people? Let me assure you that your school pedigree is not the be all and end all w/ respect to VC/finance success.
I've made a number of contacts with people involved in the above, who manage funds in excess of $500MM, who also haven't graduate degrees.
It's not where you go, it's who you know that's important. And while elaborate networks can be fastened @ bschool, so can they be @ unrelated social functions.
stupid undergrads, post something useful for a change.
