In Reply To: How does one (if its possible)move right into VC from undergraduate education, bypassing analyst stints at ibanks or top consulting companies? I have experience working for an incubator/merchant bank, for 2 years, while an undergraduate. thank you Rob
Message: It's a combination of a few things: 1) Strong intiative (Get out there and meet people. Attend industry events. Network. One good way to do this is to conduct informational interviews), 2) Be in the right place at the right time, 3) leverage any unique/valuable experiences (e.g. working at a start-up). It also wouldn't hurt to get at least a year of experience to pick up some finance, operations, or technology skills. Hope this helps...
