Working for a Small VC as Opposed to a Big VC |

Of course, a successful exit can take on average from 2 - 4 years.
By exit, I mean either selling the business(usually to a bigger firm) or preparing for an IPO(since this market is dead right now the previous scenario is more likely).
For the opportunity to make hundreds, possibly a million or more, I'll take my chances and work for the smaller firm.
The worse that can happen is you learn a great deal and parlay that into an offer to work for a larger firm. |
