In Reply To: I am a VC in the valley and had to share this story with budding entrepreneurs and VC's to be. A startup recently came into my friend's firm to pitch their idea for second round funding. I have to say that no other company I have ever seen has ever cut to the chase like these guys did! They not only saved a lot of time and energy on both parties - they got a lot of respect in my book. Why can't all the startups be like these guys. They walked into the meeting with a several partners and a few analysts and asked the group how many of them were single. No one raised any hands. They then asked if any of the gentlemen were gay! No one indicated an affirmation. At this point the team unplugged their laptop from the projector and said, "Sorry - we don't want to waste your time. You just will not understand our idea." Then they shook hands and walked out! That is the end of the story. They cut to the chase. I am not sure how they are doing but I would be looking for them.
Message: Who was that company? Those guys were either very smart or very stupid! I would love to know what the context of the pitch was.
