Anyone have an idea about Blackstone. Are they any good? How does Blackstone compare to KKR or Carlyle? How is the pay at Blackstone?

I understand Blackstone to be more of a private equity shop then a VC. I believe thy are heavy into Mezzanine and Real-estate funds. I have not heard much of their VC fund if they have one. With a big diverse firm like that I would be a little more focused on the reputation of the partner and team you might be directly working with.
As a PE shop they have a good reputation.
