Skills in Demand for Senior Candidate |

I would like to get the thoughts of those on this VC Board as to whether technology or finance skills are in greater demand by VCs.
I have held executive and management positions for a Fortune 100 technology firm, where I've developed new (growth) business opportunities and vetted emerging technologies. Most of my work has focussed on cutting edge info and communication technologies, where I've networked with VCs and start-ups in those fields. However, I have little formal finance training, and from those VCs I've spoken with it seems that this is a critical skill to have. My sense is that I could bring a good deal of value to VCs who are seeking to manage portfolio companies with problems -- and to build value webs around these companies, but that doesn't seem to be a skill currently 'in demand'. I would appreciate any thoughts others have.
