What's the best way to find out about jobs for attorneys in VC firms? I-Banks hire from top law firms all of the time, but what about VC's? |

Hey Joe "Skadden" --
VC funds like to hire through personal/professional connections -- especially when it comes to lawyers. You know as well as I do that these are opportunties that arise out of working relationships rather than job posting, and that these days everyone is vying to get in.
The people that I have seen actually succeed in their efforts are those who work closely with VC/start-up/hi-tech clients -- whether it be an IPO or general corporate representation. There may be an interim step involved -- joining a practice where you are not only exposed to these clients but where you get the responsibility and contact that fosters real relationships and real hands-on representation. Is Skadden etc. the answer? Great, sophisticated deals -- but not really the best place to be unless it's J.P. Morgan or Merrill Lynch that get you excited.
Feel free to e-mail us to learn more.
