Thanks for the reply, but can you elaborate a little bit more please ? I really need to know because it's a three year commitment, and I definitely don't want to be just a cold-calling monkey. I appreciate it. |

My understanding is that there are two groups of Associate at Summit:
i) Direct from college. These Associates are bona-fide cold-callers. 90% of their time will be spent cold-calling entrepreneurs who have bootstrapped their companies to profitability and trying to keep them on the line to hear why in the world they should take money from the firm.
ii) Banking to Summit. These Associates spend more of their time to the analytical side of transactions -- think modelling.
Short answer is that yes, you will be a cold-calling monkey, and from what I've heard from everyone that I've spoken to, you will absolutely, positively hate your job.
Whether or not to take the job will depend largely on where you'd like to go afterwards. Let me know and I'd be happy to follow up.
