I have several years of work experience in and around the technology industry, a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, and a year of M&A Investment Banking under my belt.
I was looking for a buy or sell-side opportunity in New York and have offers from three of the top 5 Investment Banks as well as an offer from a VC firm in San Francisco. They (OmegaVentures.com) are a buy-out from Bank Boston RS and have ~$250mm in a late stage and a cross over funds. I would join at Associate level with about 5 Partners and 5 Associates (several of whom are ex. McKinsey Associates). I am trying to decide whether this is a strong firm and how my future options (vis. b-school and KKR/ other VC) would be if I took this opportunity versus two more years at, say, Merrill Lynch (at an Analyst level).
Can any one advise on how to do my due dilligence most effectively?
