I agree that the VC profile is less about you skills/experience and more about contacts/pedigree. However, they have to have something to go on when deciding whether to interview you or not. Unless you have your contact log on your resume, they are probably going to consider skills, experience, education as an initial screen. I have a strategy consulting background, but also have my CFA and have extensive modeling experience. Anyone think that the CFA and heavy financial/analytical experience in addition to the strat consulting is of any value in trying to break into VC?
