In Reply To: Hey aprilia825, To me the important things to think about when considering a graduate degree are 1) What do you want to do in the future? and 2) How will the graduate education/degree help you accomplish your goals? So in your case it seems like you are mostly interested in the business side of biotech/VC, so the issue kind of becomes how well do you need to understand the science which the company you are working for is doing. If you feel like you would benefit from getting a bit more formal training in science I think a Master's would definitely help with that. A PhD however is really geared towards people who want to become university professors or at least want to run their own lab one day. So if you want to be really hands on with the science in the biotech/VC company then this might be a good option, but if you are more interested in the business side of things probably an MBA would be your best bet. If you have any other thoughts on the subject please share.
Message: Just wondering, if you were pre-med, why did you not continue to get your medical degree? I am British so am not really familiar with the US system. Is it not guaranteed that pre-med leads into full blown med?
