Hey Aprilia825,
I'm actually interested in following a simmilar career path to what you described. I am currently in a Ph.D. program in pharmacology but I decided to leave with a Master's because I don't feel that there are very good oppurtunities to get financial experience after you have a Ph.D. However, you have an interesting situation because you have the financial experience first. From my perspective I think a Ph.D. would give you a lot of science credibility but really wouldn't be too useful. I'd be interested to hear your response. |

The PhD is a tough call for me. On one hand, it would be great to be an MBA/PhD...but on the other hand, I would be looking at many years of school. And if I decided to apply for a PhD program it would be for fall of 2006 (deadlines passed for this fall). That being said, I would have about 5-6 years of schooling ahead of me at the age of 24. I've already had a little taste of the working world so far, and I'm not so sure how taking a sabbatical till I'm 30 sounds. I have a greater grasp of science than most due to my pre-med background, and if I get a healthcare focused MBA (Wharton or Fuqua) I think I'll be fine. Maybe I'll consider a master's (regular or part time) in pharmacology.....what are your thoughts being that you decided to stop at the master's level?
