I think women need to get more proactive in working with each other. Part of the problem is that many women believe that in order to succeed, they must become "less female," whatever that might means. That is, they think they have to separate themselves from other women. Sure, part of me really hates the idea of putting all women into a seperate category. However, it's quite common for people from the same school to try and help each other. I would love to talk to Ann Winblad and other female VCs and hear their strategies for success--and I would guess that Winblad's story might strike a deeper cord with me than that of her partner Bill Hummer, a former basketball player. |

Why don't you send Ann Winblad a quick email and invite her to post a small paragraph on her thoughts on the subject to this board (I think her email is on their site).
The worst that can happen is she declines do too many time commitments already.
