Thanks a lot for your info; not because i like challenging other's idea; but really couldn't help wondering the truth; and i believe that by clarifying the information, we both can benefit from it; unlike some jerks who can only give shits around via some f**k words...
Why i disagree about the information about Bain Shanghai is that Bain opens its Shanghai office in August 2004; and long time ago, Bain China has stopped recruiting ACs from abroad; the entry level for Bain China is Business Analyst, and Bain has recruited many batches of students for this position, and moreover, it's clearly impossible to believe the things you said about Bain Shanghai, because there's no ex-Bain AC's from newly-built Shanghai office.
Finally, I come from Bain Asia, that's why i have so many questions about what you said about Bain Shanghai; hope you are not distracted by some other guys with dirty words, but honestly, i like discusing with you to further clarify and exchange our thoughts.
BTW, I do know a guy who recently left BCG Shanghai and joined Warburg Pincus following a girl who left Mckinsey Beijing and joined Warburg Pincus two years ago..

I don't know everything about the structure of the Asia offices re; ACs v. BAs, etc. -- the colleagues that I have are indeed from Bain asia and did work in Seoul and Seoul. They also worked in Beijing and Singapore, so I suppose that could be the cause of the discrepancy or maybe they were business analysts...I'm just relaying what little they told me about their background...sorry, but not sure about the details.
