Am 21, and work for a top tier VC 500mm +, but I would say I am def. an exception in an industry where many analysts are nearing 30......My advice, don't work full time in VC in an analyst/associate position- if you want to be an entrepreneur- start and exit successfull companies over a 10-20 year period, build a name and a network- then you have a shot in a venture partner role without the BS of being an analyst or associate.....
best

Hi Ismac1,
Since you work at a VC, perhaps you can help me out.
I have 10 years experience in telecom, gained at large fortune 500 multinationals. I've worked as a systems engineer in Canada, Asia and Europe, and I am now Sales Manager for Europe.
I would like to switch into VC/PE, but some tell me I am too old (34 years), and others say I need an MBA. I've been accepted to an Ivy League (2 years), and a good 1 year European programme.
Based on your experience, and your colleagues, do you think I am too old, and do you think I should study in the US, or save a year of my life and get it done in Europe?
Thanks a lot !!!! I'm really stuck on this, and I'm not sure what to do.
