It's totally possible, but the odds are against you. Your key to success will be a very, very thick skin, and your ability to hone a few niche product pitches.
It's unfortunate to have to start a career being a commodity salesman, but the fact of the matter is that there are certain products that high net-worth people/institutions buy. You may wish to learn a lot about munis for HNW individuals and ARCS/APS for cash-management situations.
What you have on the plus side is that UBS is the undisputed king of munis, so you will have access to better offerings than folks starting elsewhere. |

How easy or hard is it to make a lot (Like over 100k) off the commissions?
