Maybe you can help me - how can I break into Training - see my message below.
Need - Training Companies or Consulting Groups in Long Island or Suffolk (would consider NYC too).
Been working for 20+ years in HR/Office Mgt/Admin Asst type positions. I was recently certified by SHRM with a PHR and have my A.S. in Bus/HR and should have my BA next year. Also, take other HR certificates and courses to update my knowledge. My past 10 yrs. experience has been as Exec Asst and am having difficulty changing over to better position. Currently working a job-share in NYC and want to work full-time next year in Long Island, NY. I have outgrown Admin Asst type positions and will be looking for full-time work next year. I am considering starting in the Training area of HR - possibly with a company that provides training to other companies. Anyone know of good training companies looking to hire experienced people (but may not have specific training experience).
Would like to not start as Admin Asst at low salary - but would have to start at entry level. What are salaries??
Or a good company willing to train people and provide career path and growth.
Thx for any help.

I have been the Director of training for 5 years. What I look for is people who can deliver a topic to a group, maintain an even pace.
I would suggest putting together 2 -3 different presentations of topics you are familiar with work related or personal it doesnt matter. Make sure that they can teach someone something and then apply and ask for a training presentation evaluation. your background in HR could be valuable.
Starting pay for Customer Service, Sales Training could be mid 30's. Entry level technical high 30 - 40. May be a good idea to look into industry certifications as well
Good Luck
