One-man "Think Tank" Paradox |

Feel free to laugh at the irony, but I'm pretty frustrated about it.
I have often been referred to as a "one-man think tank" (and, truly I am able to look at situations from so many points of view that I produce more ideas than anyone I have ever dealt with.
To make matters more ironic (read on, you'll soon see), I have developed and taught college courses on brainstorming and innovation.
My dilema (and question) is this: What industry and capacity is this ability most sought after? I can't figure it out (that was the ironic part-laugh if you must).
I really want input based on your experience especially in this economy.
