We perform a job reference checking service (www.jobreference.com)for job searchers unsure what their former employers will give as a reference. Have a question for all of you in high tech industry...we often encounter employers describing their former employee in app development, etc. as "drifty" i.e. here today gone tomorrow. Not a positive attribute depending on how you look at it, but would it be considered a plus in high-tech? For example, does this industry rely on fast turnovers, "get the creativity while it lasts", ?? |

Losing an employee after the cost of training and integrating them in our systems is an expensive pain in the ass. I'm looking at resumes for 4 openings right now and I have a special place for those that show more than two jobs that lasted less than a year. Everybody has the right to one or two bad fits but after that-outta here! Yes, I've interviewed a few drifties just to see what gives. It usually doesn't take more than about 30 seconds to figure out what the problem is.
