You just got a response from a recruiter and those people are the scum of the earth. That guy masquerades as someone interested in you ?? who wants to help you. It??s a scam. Recruiters see dollar signs when they see you because that??s what you are to them. They are salespeople and they will sell anything. In this case they peddle flesh ?? and you know what that makes them don??t you? PIMPS
They act like they are on your side. They are NOT. Their agency (bork) is paid by their client to find talent (you). You do NOT pay them so CROOTERS DO NOT WORK FOR YOU. THEY DO NOT REPRESENT YOU. THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR WELFARE. Their only objective is to peddle your ass to their client. Remember, they peddle flesh. They will misrepresent facts, lie, cheat, steal, or anything else needed to make money.
They brag about making ??6 FIGURE INCOMES??. It??s a lie. They lie to impress you. They misuse resumes. You need to get an education. Check out the following message boards:

Once you get past the crazies there??s tons of useful info.

It's too bad you had a bad experience or experiences. I agree that there are some terrible recruiters and they are after the all might dollar, but then again so are a lot of people. However, as for the recruiter, those who are selfish and after one thing, their own success, have not done justice to anyone.
I have had good and bad experience and would use again, but am selective and do not rely on anyone to "work" for me to represent me unless I do pay them. Nothing is for free, even your employees at "not for profit" companies get paid and some quite well.
I have a close friend that is a recruiter, (not in the feild I work in) and she has said from day one that she is a "pimp" in a way, after all as she puts it 'I sell people' However, she does add a point, the sell that happens is in ones skills and ablities to do a legal and proper job, not an illegal and disgusting form, of making a living.
You don't have to work with or have a recruiter submit your information, and the way in which you describe all "crooters" shows that your negative attitude should just stay within in your own networking technique and work your own job posibilities, but I don'think it is necessary to try and PUSH and PEDDLE your angry thoughts about recruiters and the industry. It has done some good and has done some wrong....after all people are people...good and bad!
