Is there a wide range of pay for E-Commerce Managers, Internet Project Managers, Interactive Marketing Managers and/or new media positions? I'm seeing some widely diverging salary data based on my research. Is there anyone working in these jobs that's willing to state their pay? I received an offer from a leading online brokerage (it's not in CA or NY) for a Project Manager position. Base salary was $55,000. I think that they are actually willing to pay between $40,000-$100,000, according to project managers at other firms with whom I've talked. I thought the offer I received was low because I have a MBA from a "top" school (according to the SURVEYS, not necessarily the truth...). Also, this online brokerage's style is to "negotiate" salaries. When I first declined the offer, they then started adding on things like a sign-on bonus and performance-based bonus, but it wasn't much and I eventually ended the talks because they weren't going anywhere...
