I am not sure it is any better here. I would bet some firm would hire you for the lowest possible wage and leave you high and dry later on, to acquire the next overseas sucker. I agree with the previous post about sounding like you must leave or else !
I assure you most of the big bucks opportunities are hand picked for the friends of friends and the stories of fame and fortune are the exception, otherwise it wouldn't be a big deal.
