I think your topic should be why employees don't stay at companies. Most companies have adifficult time keeping their best IT people on board for a number of issues. The reasons vary from lack of committment to IT initiatives, lack of leadership, lack of personal and professional growth, and compensation. As a matter of fact, the last reason most people leave an organization is money. If IT people really want to make alot of money and strictly work on tactical issues, than contacting is the ideal route. That is if your skill set is hot and companies are willing to pay big dollars for that mindshare (ie Cisco CCIE).
