I posted a message yesterday which contained 2 quoted messages from the recruiting section thread "H-1B", which vault has since purged. My message's text was almost entirely quoted text, which you can look up yourself. My only commentary was as follows, and a direct quote of my text:
" Check the threads out for yourself, I'm not making this up. I find his commentaries disrespectful to Americans, here in a country where he is a guest, and taking American jobs."
This is language used daily at the realrates.com threads and other message boards. Vault choose to remove my message, evidently having a problem with the minimal commentary I made (see quote above). My message DID NOT violate board rules. Yet, they chose to remove it.
Vault is taking an increasingly passive approach to the First Amendment of the Constitution. Our freedom of speech is a fundamental right in America. However, the vault censorship police are removing messages.
Nonetheless, recruiters at the recruiting thread repeatedly cross the line of good manners into rudeness, often lie, and single out individuals for offensive postings. Recruiters have a free hand to be as offensive & rude, and spew as many lies as they want.
Evidently, recruiters and their companies are getting a pass on their content because they must pay some degree of the freight here at vault, and vault is just about on their ass. In fact, vault was mentioned prominently by 'FuckedCompany.com' as having laid off a ton of employees.
They may very well employ cheaper H-1Bs to maintain these boards, and that would therefore render any discussion about H-1Bs to be an 'undesirable topic'. It is altogether possible that H-1Bs maintain these boards and censor the threads as well, which would make for a conflict of interest when they censor H-1B related messages.
If vault DOES use cheaper H-1Bs to replace Americans they would NOT be the first company to do so.
All of us need to stand together against such unprofessional and unprovoked behavior.

They probably DO use H-1Bs. I read that report on fuckedcompany.com also. It seems that vault laid off about a third of their employees this year, and the only way to get the work done (for cheaper) would be to hire H-1Bs. How much do you want to bet they did just that?
Now imagine an H-1B monitoring these boards and picking out messages because they don't suit him/her. How can an H-1B truly realize just how important the first amendment is to us? I say B2B to those guys.
PS screw all this political correctness crap.
