thank you for encouraging me. I've been going through my alternatives over and over again. And after a certain time I've been like what the hell I 'm doing. I wasn't so sure.
You sound like pretty experienced in IT world. All I needed was an advice from an expert.
Thanx so much |

My path is similar to yours though I did not go that far as you are before I switched focus to IT. I passed 2 parts of the CPA exam but then I found my real passion.
I'm curious as to why you're undertaking all this "hard-core" programming stuff(C++). You've gone pretty far into finance, so i'd assume you will be staying in the NY-style "business" world and apply technical skills to provide solutions, make you more efficient etc and not go into the Silicon Valley-style "coding" world.
In my opinion, as far as programming goes, VB-like programming knowledge, in general, should be sufficient for guys like us.
Have you taken up any database skills? If not, I suggest you do.
Don't get me wrong, I love programming. I've programmed apps in VB/VBA. But personally I realized that DATA is like blood to the businees world. So I focused on DB and use programming as a tool to achieve a goal.
Good Luck
Robert
