You need some experience to get into IT Security. Setting up and breaking systems is a good way. Also, for certifications, go professional.
Try and pass the CISSP, CISM or CISA. You can't get the certification without several years of experience, but you can say you passed and it shows some solid foundational skills.
Also, usually the people I see in security have CIS or EE degrees. They are former systems engineers: AS500 now iSeries, HP-UX and maybe a little M$. |
