Message Name: here's a lttle black girl missing

In Reply To: I challenge anyone to name five women or girls of color who have gotten national and prolonged media attention in the last five years after disappearing or being murdered. Go ahead, give it a shot. They can be from any minority group; black, asian, latino, pacific islander, take your pick. I bet it can't be done. My point: the media only cares when pretty, young white women are victimized. Don't disagree unless you can complete the above listed task. Think about it: Laci Peterson, Jennifer Wilbanks, Chandra Levy, Natalee Holloway, Elizabeth Smart, the list goes on and on and on and on. As a black woman it makes me genuinely sad that my life and well-being is valued less than that of my blonde sisters.
Message: Two arrested (DCF Workers) for caging and abusing 4 year old girl. Rylia Wilson has not yet been found and is still missing. It took close to a year and a half for Florida Department of Family Services to even realize that she was missing. Governor Appointed Blue Ribbon Commission to address shortfalls of Foster Care. Today over 500 hundred children are still not accounted for in the State of Florida Department of Family Services. Rylia Wilson's files showed "mental health treatment" and lacked the proper "Informed Consent" papers.
