Topic Name: Actor Lane Smith RIP Message Name: Could have played Rather Date Posted: 06/15/2005 Message: The actor Lane Smith has died. Too bad. I was hoping that someday he'd be cast as Dan Rather in some tv movie or feature. In some of his films Lane's resemblance to Rather is scary.
