If she had just showed back up somewhere, and not claimed she had been kidnapped, she wouldn't even be paying back the $13,000. It's not illegal to go somewhere and not tell anyone... |

It's got all the elements for a lecture on why TV is in big trouble:
Falling network desperate for numbers
Out of control ego of minimally talented but adorable anchorwoman
Entertainment division and NEws division acting as one
Short term thinking by all involved
Sad, crazy and not too bright heroine that was made some kind of icon by a cable news operations desperate to fill their 24 hours of time without actually spending any money or brain power
And finally...sadly...
a percentage of the public that tunes into this. They also tune into WHEN ANOIMALS ATTACK and the Geraldo specials.
