As a veteran reporter with troubles finding the next gig, I've looked into the propsect of pursuing a law degree. Trouble is, I'm not convinced it will add to my marketability, seeing the difficulties I've been having finding a job with the credentials and experience I already have. In other words, would it really make a difference in a field that's about hiring inexperienced talent for less.? This is a great post and please offer suggestions, as I am taking this idea very seriously. Thank you. |

I made the move from reporting to law school about ten years ago. After 6+ years in practice as a criminal defense attorney, I'm glad I did it... especially when I see anchors on MSNBC interviewing Ronald McDonald. You can bet even more small market anchors got that assignment when the flaks at McDonalds pitched the exciting opportunity on Ronald's satellite PR tour.
