It seem like a lot of reporters are getting great jobs because they are lawyers. Is it worth it at this stage (early 30's) to go back to law school to have something else to bring to the table?

If you want to stay in TV...a law degree will help you understand and occassionally cover stories.
BUT...don't ever expect to be compensated for the cost of obtaining a law degree or the value of having the degree.
If you want the knowledge & can afford it...go for it.
If you think it will make you more marketable...think again.
(I was reporting for a few years before I went to law school with intention of staying in the business. Since then, I've done reporting, producing and management).
