Thanks for the info - After 8 years in a top 25 market I've been able to get my salary up to a comfortable level...just wondering how comfortable I could be somewhere else. I'm a bit disappointed in the Minneapolis pay. I was really hoping it would be higher. I guess my agent has his work cut out for him. Thanks again! |

There's a reason Mpls. reporter pay is rather low. Nearly every reporter in the biz wants to get into that market. It is usually regarded as one of, if not THE best TV news markets in the country in terms of quality.
KARE especially can get away with paying starting reporters 35-grand. It is probably the best storytelling shop in the country. Every photographer you work with is one of the best in the biz. Just about every reporter I know would take that pay hit to work at that shop.
