News 14 is not very respected around town... although they're not the running joke that Fox Charlotte has become.
Probably HALF of the all the news content comes from NewsSource or medical or food feeds, and the other half gets repeated ad nauseum, sometimes for DAYS.
And no, I don't have a problem with attractive women, in fact, I married one. However, I do like my news readers to actually be able to READ.
And yes, I know the management issues they face... but to be honest, anyone that did any research at all on Slime Warner would have seen THAT coming a mile away.
The 'Titanic' was a big, pretty ship, but the result was the same.
So please, don't go around trying to compare yourselves to the big three.... 'cause you're not in the same league. You're weather every ten minutes with a little news to fill in the spaces. Be happy with that. At least you don't work at WCCB. |

Ummm ... okay ... if you say so.
Sure, News 14 may be unwatchable at times, but ALL the Charlotte stations are unwatchable at times. ALL have embarassing technical glitches. ALL have sub-par anchors (anyone watching channel 36 this morning??) and sub-par reporters. I'm not sure I'd want to be in the "same league."
Add in the fact that News 14 staffers face some unimaginable challenges, and it all seems to even out to me. Yes, News 14 can and should be A LOT better than it is, but I think you could say the same thing about ALL the stations here.
Oh, and someone asked what happened to the ND? He's still the ND. Ron Miller was the GM.
