Just curious, hearing lots of stories about management there hitting the roof because a crew brought a box of Krispy Kremes back to the newsroom, courtesy a group hosting a press event. Is this for real? Wonder what kind of "special treatment" that photog promised to get that big "PAYOLA". The person who was notorious for getting free food and payola at WGCL was Fred Powers.
Fred loves to eat and be seen in public. Fred would work an angle into his story by eating at a restaurant during his dinner break by getting SOTs from customers or restaurant owners and promise to mention the name of the restaurant in his package. Any photog who worked with Fred was almost guaranteed a free meal on their shift.
