Where? I no longer work in TV news, but my experience is all large and medium markets, and I seriously doubt you are old enough to be my father.

As I meander through the postings, I'm touched by the irrelevance of many. The question posed is: ND, reporter or producer? Flipit said photogs make the best NDs. Some do, some don't. As a former photog, producer, EP, Asst ND, I think that route qualified me well to run a newsroom when I ran one. I haven't run a LOCAL newsroom since 1989. I don't think my tools fit today. Having said that, I'd opt for a producer today...or a carnival pitchman.
