is that it took the senator getting involved along with the FBI to finally get Aruba halfway on the ball with the investigation.
And it took the US press more than a week to wake up to the story. But when they did, that really got Aruba shaped up (well, as much as they can be).
And ABC appears to be out of the game completely with the story. Worst coverage ever.
It's not just that it's a blonde American that has viewers fascinated. I think it's the total shock that a country like Aruba which gets so much American tourism can be so cavalier about a possible murder of an American on their island. That and the very real possiblilty that the 3 boys received special treatment because of who their daddies are. It just ticks off Americans and that's a lot of what's fueled this.
Face it, Aruban/Dutch authorities didn't arrest the last 3 people to be seen with Natalee until the US press started pounding them in press conferences.

The last people seen with her...the three suspects were let free for more than a week, while they held two black security guards who seem to have no connecton to the case. I read an article citing all these stories about pretty white women...Lacy Peterson, Chandra Levy, Elizabeth Smart, Lori Hacking and now Holloway. Name any other case with this much interest where the woman was unattractive or dark skinned. I hate to admit I've been following this case, but there is some intrigue. I'm sure the three boys are guilty and one of them will crack soon enough. Then it will be on to the next pretty white missing person.
