In west Michigan, there is more snow but it is much warmer than Chicago or Minneapolis.
Grand Rapids is a pretty nice city, lots of great restaurants and neighborhoods, and the best thing - only a half hour to Lake Michigan with fabulous beaches. I grew up on the Wisconsin side, with rocks and cold water. Michigan is all sand from Indiana to the Mackinac Bridge.

really appreciate it..I had been told winters were not as rough as the other side of the lake, but wanted to hear it from someone else..any other comments out there??
