In Reply To: I have no idea how this thread has lasted as long as it has. But regardless, let's cut to the chase. I can't even make up a reason an Atlanta station - be it WSB or otherwise - would ignore a significant development in this decades-old case. They simply would not ignore a potential blockbuster story. And - trust me on this - relationships with city leaders (PD or otherwise) are far from cozy. If anything they've reached a decades-old low. The sad truth -- and I won't defend this -- is in the ATL (as in many other markets), local TV stations simply do not have the resources to conduct a full scale investigation on all the tidbits of "new" information that comes up. If there is any fault, this is it. I can unequivocally state there is no desire to squash, cover up, or ignore this story. To think so would be giving these stations WAY too much credit.
Message: The people who have perpetuated this thread, I suspect, are people with some kind of investment in the story. Books have been written about Williams supposed innocence by a former television journalist who would LOVE to keep this story alive. No one in Atlanta has ignored this story. Anyone who watches Atlanta news would know that. Monica hasn't buried anything. The story has been told and retold. There is nothing new here except Louis Graham now has the power to reopen the investigation.
