I am a young, recently graduated, reporter/ anchor in search of my first job. I've been told by people that I look like a "Black Barbie"," You've got the look" and so on. So my question is, just how important are looks? My work is good (don't we all think so)but I know there is a constant need for improvement. I live is So Cali where most of the women on the news tube are babes or wanna be babes, but I know in the smaller markets, where i will begin, are much more conservative. Will this hinder or help me out as a rookie? Fill me in please. |

How far have looks gotten you already?
Your post starts, "Does sex sell"? and then you ask about your looks getting you somewhere. Huh?
Do you think "looks" are offensive to smaller (as you put, conservative) markets? What's that all about?
Best to concentrate on your brain, dear. Your looks will fade eventually.
