the main anchor at my station was spotted by the news director just outside the door as we were talking about something work-related (it wasn't very important)... she asked if he wanted anything... he just poked his head in and said something like, "no, just hadn't seen you in a couple of days and thought i'd stick my head in and say hi." that was it. didn't suck up, just said hi. and oh yea i forgot, he wasn't the main anchor at the station....... yet. that came a little later.
