I am a young, recently graduated, reporter/ anchor in search of my first job. I've been told by people that I look like a "Black Barbie"," You've got the look" and so on. So my question is, just how important are looks? My work is good (don't we all think so)but I know there is a constant need for improvement. I live is So Cali where most of the women on the news tube are babes or wanna be babes, but I know in the smaller markets, where i will begin, are much more conservative. Will this hinder or help me out as a rookie? Fill me in please. |

help or not is not the thing you should be concentrating on. It will help some places and hurt in others...
but..poor writing..sloppy reporting..boring storytelling, etc...will always hurt you.
Concentrate on the important stuff.
