This mechanism to hog tie talent has got to go; for good, in all states.
The people who want to enforce non-competes need a taste of their own rules.
This baloney about a talent's value being solely created by a station's promotions and through the station's exposure is one hang up in some places, as to why some non-competes have been enforceable. Some jurisdictions say, wait a minute, didn't the talent have anything to do with creating his or her value, through the development of personality, performance skills, and actual work? Hopefully, more judges and jurisdictions will side with the latter. |
