english?..stuart's act is simply old..most people i know watch espn because they're interested in sports..not hip-hop, urban slang..and, perhaps most importantly, racism is racism..regardless who's doing the name-calling..thee are just as many black racists as there are white ones..regrettably, a number of them on this board..i thought we were mostly grown-ups.. sorry to discover i was wrong.. |

is not that they are against hip ... they're not against folks who get down wit' it ... the don't even ban an occassional "what up dog".
The think about ESPN is that that is not their act ... regardless of race.
ESPN's vibe/image/feel is that of upper-middle-class frat boys making fun of the poor kids. It's the same act that Dennis Miller used to have, when he was funny.
These are private school boys, with prep school cool, too smart for the room, sitting in the box seats and pretending to be just a "regular" guy before hopping back in the BMer and heading back to Manhatten in the hip flat that daddy bought them as a graduation present.
That's their schtick ... regardless of race. Every one there is a cool shade of green.
