News coverage of the MJ Trial is easy and requires no thought process. This is just another easy time filler. Most people wouldn't care about the trial, but since it's on all the time, some people will start following it. Remember television news sculpts public opinion.
Trials are easy reports. It's just like management sending a reporter to a car accident or a domestic murder. It's easy work. Even though it has no value to the viewer; it does create shock value and water cooler talk.
I really wish the news would get back to investigative reports. I think many viewers would appreaciate a change of pace |

...to say MJ is all over the place. In NY, MJ is a bottom first block and most often B or C-block reader.
If you are producing a show anywhere outside of LA and a normal trial day in the MJ trial is your lead story, something is wrong with you!
Let's not mix Cable's focus with Local News.
