It screams of the typical test to see if the audience sees her as, "girl next door, less professional" type. Because, after all, those watching after 9 are more likely to be at home moms who might be more intimidated by professional women. Then if the audience sees that, the suits will watch how that plays with the audience. She is not "on-air host material", but the suits want to see if they can get away with it. It's so obvious! They are trying to capitalize on the same principal as president Bush has used. Yea, he may butcher the English language but it brings him closer to the "average Joe", so to speak.
If they do add her it speaks volumes for where they are headed in the future.

You obviously know nothing about her background -- and the fact that, until NBC discovered her, she was head of floor operations at the New York Stock Exchange for Morgan Stanley, one of the biggest firms on Wall Street. She's smarter -- and richer -- than just about any other woman on television.
